The issue at hand is having to continuously buy bunches from the grocery store every week, because the cost can add up. So, why not grow them in your own kitchen!
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">All you need is to take your leftover green onion bunches, and cut them down to about an inch. Just put them in a cup of water, similar to the picture. Then, just make sure you put the glass near a window so the bunches get plenty of sunlight. I'd change the water about every two day, because then you have fresh water

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Before you know it, you'll have grown your next bunch of green onions. Once they grow, use scissors to trim what you need. Then, start again! You'll probably get a few bunches from regrowing just one bunch!

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Have you ever had great recipes that calls for chopped fresh basil? My favorite one is Strawberry Bruschetta, that's topped with strands of basil. But chopping basil isn't necessarily easy, until I learned a new way that's simple. Plus, it will get the perfect strand that you want.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Start by flattening out a single basil leaf. Then, roll it up like a tortilla, similar to what is pictured
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">on the right side. Depending of how thick or thin you would like the strands, wrap it tightly or loosely.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Then, make your slices longways along your wrapped basil leaf. Visually speaking, think of how you would slice a rolled up tortilla filled with cream cheese and veggies. Once your done, repeat with the rest of your basil leaf and you will get something that looks like the bottom picture!
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> When the calendar reads March 17th, that means its time to grab anything green from our closets and make sure our stomach is ready for corn beef and cabbage.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">St. Patrick's Day marks the one day of the year that the entire world celebrates being Irish and hail in the glory of Irish drinks and food. But if you're planning a party or want something simple to make with your dinner, then these biscuits are perfect!
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 1 pkg of Biscuits
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 1/4 pkg of Frozen Spinach (thawed)
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 2 cloves of minced garlic
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Olive oil
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Parmesan Cheese

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Start by following the directions on the biscuits package and preheat the oven. Lay out each biscuit on a cookie sheet a few inches apart. Paint a little bit of olive oil on top of each biscuit.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Then, after mincing the garlic, spoon out a little bit of garlic on each biscuit as well. This usually is about 8 mini garlic pieces. Add a bit of spinach and top it with some Parmesan cheese, just like in the picture. The secret is to not fully drain the spinach, because the cooking process dries the spinach out a bit. Once your done enjoy!
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> Like every holiday there are more times than not, those specialty dishes. For Thanksgiving it means cooking a turkey for several hours until it's golden brown. For Christmas it means cooking a ham and having leftovers for breakfast the following day.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> For Valentine's Day it means couples will endure in seafood, such as oysters or lobster. But, why not have a recipe that shows you care without the hassle.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 2 Chicken Breasts
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Olive Oil
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Tortillas
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Chopped Onion
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Chopped Green Pepper
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Frozen Corn
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Frozen Broccoli
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Shredded Cheddar Cheese
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Salt & Pepper
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Makes: About 6 Quesadillas

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Start this recipe by heating a medium sized skillet on the stove. Chop your chicken breasts into quarter size pieces and cook them until done. I season the chicken with a little bit of pepper and salt, to add flavor to the chicken. Once the chicken is done, set your pan aside and start cooking your vegetables.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">The best part about this recipe is you can add as many vegetables as you want. You can even change it up and add your favorites. I went with a healthy choice and used what's pictured left.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Just to get an idea about portion, I use about a 1/3 - 1/2 cup of each chopped vegetable. I usually throw the pepper in the skillet first, because it takes the longest to cook, followed by the onions, broccoli and the corn.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> The key to a good quesadilla is how they cook. Take your olive oil and pour some in a bowl. Lay out a tortilla on a plate and paint a light layer of olive oil on each side. Then, pick whichever side and sprinkle the amount of cheese chicken and vegetables that is desired. But, only sprinkle it on half of the one side because it makes the next part easier.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Finally, fold it over gently. Place the quesadilla on a hot griddle and cook each side until cheese is melted and tortillas are golden brown. Then, add some corn salsa and rice! Then, enjoy your romantic Mexican meal! Happy Valentine's Day!

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">As a child, I've always had a great fascination with chocolate pudding. Whether it was coming home from school or on a rainy day, when my grandmother made pudding life seemed perfect.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">So I decided to come up with a recipe combining perfection with a variety of ingredients that will take you back to childhood.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Banana Mud Delite Ingredients
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 1 Snackpack Puddng container
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 2 Tbs. Cool whip
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 1 banana
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">You can see from the list of ingredients, I decided to use snack packs, rather than homemade pudding. I did this because its easier than making homemade. But, feel free to substitute and make Jello homemade pudding. It's the best!
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Start the recipe by emptying a snack pack container of pudding in a bowl. Depending on how much you want, feel free to use two containers. Then, slice a banana and add it to your bowl of pudding. I used 1/2 - 1 banana depending on it's size. Once that's done, spoon in your 2 tbs. of Cool Whip and mix it all together.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">It's back to school time for students all across the country
and that means parents will be packing school lunches. But how can you
use lunches to help your kids deal with those back to school jitters?
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> The ideas are meant to get a smile from your kids as well as help you connect with them while they’re away.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Winnie the Pooh Sandwich Ingredients
- 2 slices of bread
- Favorite jelly
- Peanut Butter
- Honey
- Banana

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> What makes this unique is you're going to carve a Winnie
the Pooh face into the sandwich. The idea is to make a circular face
first, with little ears at the top. Start with a little square at the
top, then round one side at the top for the first ear, and then round
the second for the second ear. Finally, take your knife in a circular
motion to create Pooh's round face.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> Then do the same with the other half, and peel off the
crusts. Just add the peanut butter, jelly, honey and banana on top, then
cover it. The final touches are his face. Slice some chocolate licorice
in pieces to resemble eyes, eyebrows, mouth and nose and use peanut
butter as your glue. Then you have Winnie the Pooh!

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> Pineapple Fruit Bees Ingredients
- Pineapple
- Hershey's magic shell
- Peanut butter
- Chocolate chips
- Toothpicks

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> Start by slicing your pineapple into an oval shape. Then
take a toothpick and use it to place the Hershey's Magic Shell on the
pineapple. It will be a bit runny, but just put them in the fridge and
it will harden. Once that's complete just take two chocolate chips, and
put peanut butter on the bottom. This will serve as your glue and place
them on your bee. Lastly, cut out two small triangles to place next to
the bees body and there you have it!
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Tomato Basil Pita Pocket Ingredients
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> - 1 pkg. of whole wheat pitas
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> - 1 Red pepper
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> - Mozzarella cheese
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> - Cubed chicken
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> - Alfredo sauce ( I used Ragu Red Pepper Alfredo)
- Tomato
-<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> Basil
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> - Oregano
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> - Parsley

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Start by cooking your chicken in a medium sized pan. Once that's done, cut your red pepper into slices and saute them.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Then, take a pita and put it on a cookie sheet with aluminum foil. This will keep the pita from sticking. Season each side with oregano, parsley and basil. Feel free to use as much as you would like.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">After that, spread the Alfredo sauce across the pita. Now, put the cubed chicken on top and feel free to use enough to cover the pita. Finally, add the red peppers and mozzarella cheese.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Preheat the oven at 325 degrees, fold the pita pocket and cook for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted. Then, take a bite of ooey-gooey goodness that will fill your stomach with happiness.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">When summertime hits, many of us look for a great summer treat that's sure to fill our stomachs with happiness. Well, I ventured out to Tep's Drive In in Augusta, Wisconsin to see what I could find. I believe the pictures speak for themselves on how you can spend summer with the family.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Tep's Drive In began serving food in 1948. Although it's
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">operated under a few different names it's definitely an original in Western Wisconsin. The place works like a carhop, which means a waitress will take your order and bring your food to the car.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">I started my adventure by ordering their taco fries. You can see from the picture above how they're served. It comes with ground beef, nachos cheese, tomato, salsa and sour cream with taco seasoning on top. Then I tried the single "Western Burger" which is picture on the right. To my surprise it came with two patties, cheese, lettuce, bbq sauce, onions and bacon. It was as good as the picture looks too.

It's definitely a creative fest when it comes to desserts. So I tried the "Upside Banana Split," which comes with pineapple, strawberry and fudge topping. As you can tell it's not your ordinary banana split, which makes it fun to eat!

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> Then, I tried the "Smore's Sundae," because you can't go wrong with smores in the title. It comes with twisted vanilla and chocolate ice-cream (I just got vanilla), graham cracker crust, chocolate sauce and marshmallow fluff. Now you can feel like you're sitting by a campfire! If you want to find Tep's Drive In, you can find it off Highway 12 in Augusta, Wisconsin.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">With summer on our doorstep, it's the best time to eat something refreshing with either lunch or dinner. Then, I came up with this wrap where it combines all sorts of flavors that will leave your tastebuds satisfied.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> Apple Mango Chicken Wraps Ingredients
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 1 apple (I used Braeburn)
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 1 Mango
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Lettuce
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Tortillas
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 3 Chicken Breasts
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Sesame Ginger Dressing
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> - Salt & pepper to taste
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> Servings: 4 wraps

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Start by heating up a medium sized pan with a few tbs. of Olive oil and chop the thawed chicken breasts into cubes. Then, cook the chicken breasts. Once they're done, now it's time to slice up our fruit for our wraps.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">When slicing the apples and mango, slice everything into thin slices. Feel free to add as much apple and mango to your wrap. Now, lay out your tortilla and add the chicken, mango and apple slices.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Finally its time to top it off with the lettuce and Sesame Ginger dressing. Then roll it up into a wrap. Feel free to slice the wrap in half to see all the goodness you're about to enjoy.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> So take this wrap to the park for a picnic or even the beach and sip on some lemonade. You will feel refreshed and want to make this recipe again.
But why not spend some time in the kitchen cooking with your kids so they can learn while having a bit of fun.

I came up with an easy breakfast recipe that gets the kids out of bed and into the kitchen. It's a make-your-own breakfast muffin, which has an easy cleanup too.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> Breakfast Omelette Muffins Ingredients

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> 1 Green pepper
1 Red pepper
1/4 c. Bacon bits
½ Onion
Dozen eggs
4 tbs. Milk
½ c. Cheddar
1 tbs. Oregano
1 tbs. Parsley
Salt & pepper to taste

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Start by chopping up all the vegetables and bacon, which the adult should do. Then help your kids whisk together the eggs and milk in a separate bowl with all the seasonings. It’s great opportunity to help them learn. The idea is to whisk the eggs like you do when you're making scrambled eggs.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> Then what you want to do is use cupcake liners to line your muffin tin. The recipe makes 12 muffins and this will keep your eggs from sticking to the tin itself. Think of one egg per muffin. Then, spray the liners with cooking spray, because eggs like to stick to the liner too. Plus, with liners it makes for easy cleanup.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> The fun part comes where kids get to build their own muffin. Kids get to put in how much pepper, onions and bacon they want in each muffin. The best part is you can add other ingredients like sausage, ham, mushrooms, spinach. It's honestly what your tastebuds prefer. The recipe included bacon and cheddar because that's the true heart of Wisconsin.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> Once all your fix-ins is put into each muffin make sure your vegetables or meat only takes up about 1/4 of the muffin cup. Then, pour in the egg mixture almost to the top of the liner. You don’t want to overfill these, because these will rise in the oven a little bit, and you don't want them to overflow.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> After everything is added, let the kids sprinkle how much cheese they want, because living in Wisconsin you have to eat cheese for breakfast. I use cheddar because it's my favorite, but you can use parmesan, asiago, or any other kind, just make sure the cheese is shredded.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> Then, you pop these in the oven for about 25 minutes on 350 degrees. You'll know when they’re ready when you put a toothpick in them and the eggs are no longer runny. Once they’re done, they will look nice and brown on the top. Then you and your family can sit down and enjoy a home cooked breakfast together.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02927732632113945577noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3550204903776918362.post-77864171250661900792013-06-14T18:31:00.002-07:002013-06-14T18:51:23.338-07:00PB & J Rice Cake Bites<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">We all remember growing up and bringing that infamous peanut butter and jelly sandwich to school. The combination of flavors swirling around our taste buds just before heading out for recess. It's time we travel back to childhood and give our kids the same experiences.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">It's why I came up with the simple and easy recipe of "PB & J Rice Cake Bites." Kids and adults can enjoy them because they fill our stomachs with happiness and our minds with memories.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">PB & J Rice Cake Bites
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Peanut Butter
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Favorite Jelly
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Mini Caramel Corn Quakers Rice Cakes
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">When I said these were easy, I meant it. All you need to do is spread a little peanut butter on one mini rice cake and jelly on another. For the rice cakes, I used Quaker's Oat Popped Caramel Corn Rice Cakes because they're healthy and they're sweet.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">I also prefer creamy peanut butter and raspberry jam, so I used that too. Once, the ingredients are on, just put the two halves together like a sandwich. Then, take a bite of the best bite sized rice cake you've ever tasted. You can even add fruit like strawberries or bananas to make it even better. So trust the crunch and you'll make this again.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02927732632113945577noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3550204903776918362.post-46049832725817274432013-06-03T12:52:00.000-07:002013-06-03T13:06:20.219-07:00Waffle Cristo Sandwhich

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Some of you may be familiar with the infamous "Monte Cristo" and how it has a lot of strange flavors combined. Yet, it's one of my favorite sandwiches whether I eat it for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It's meaty flavor and sweetness is what keeps me coming back for more.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">However, I wanted to come up with a simple way that didn't require frying and used ingredients that I usually have at home. That's when it dawned on me that I could make my own "Waffle Cristo Sandwhich."
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Waffle Cristo Ingredients
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 2 waffles (frozen or homemade)
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 5 thin pieces of turkey
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 1/4 c. cheddar cheese
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Spoonful raspberry jam
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Powdered sugar
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Makes 1 serving
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Start by cooking your waffles in a toaster, like its directed on the box. I used Eggo waffles because it's easy to just grab them from the freezer. While those are cooking, put your slices of turkey on a plate with the shredded cheddar on top and put it in the microwave until it melts.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">The reason you want to put it in the microwave without the waffles is because the microwave will make the waffles soggy. Once your cheese is melted and your waffles are cooked then it's time to build your Waffle Cristo Sandwhich.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Put your melted slices of turkey and cheese on one waffle and top with your other waffle. Then spoon your raspberry jam onto your plate for dipping. Sprinkle some powdered sugar on top a and prepare yourself for a combination of flavors that you'd never think would taste like heaven.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02927732632113945577noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3550204903776918362.post-20073271451421337592013-05-30T13:34:00.002-07:002013-05-30T22:18:21.466-07:00Barbecue Chicken & Shrimp Tostada

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">When it comes to dinner, we always look for something that is quick, easy and of course delicious. But, what I like best is making Mexican food that is quick, easy and delicious.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">After having my fair share of Mexican, I've developed an idea that takes the meaning of "tostada," to a whole new level. If you've ever wondered what "tostada" means, it's a Spanish word derived from word "toasted." So if you want a Mexican dish that has some spice, crunch and flavor, this is what you need.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Barbecue Chicken & Shrimp Tostada Ingredients

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 2 chicken breasts (chopped)
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 1/2 medium sized onion (sliced)
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 1/2 c. of small shrimp (peeled & defrosted)
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 2 tbs. cumin
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 1/2 tbs. chili powder
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 1/4 c. of shredded cheddar
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Dash of pepper
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Olive oil
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 2 tortillas
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Corn salsa
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 1/2 avocado (diced)
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Barbecue sauce
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- Lettuce
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Makes 2 servings
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Start by chopping the chicken breasts into small chunks and heat in a medium sized pan with 2 tbs. of olive oil. Once the chicken is almost cooked, add the shrimp and onions.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Then add 2 tbs. of cumin, 1/2 tbs. of chili powder and a dash of pepper.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">After everything is cooked, heat up a medium sized skillet on medium-high with a 1 tbs. of olive oil. Then place a medium size tortilla in the pan, cooking each side for a few minutes. What you should look for is when the tortilla begins to bubble and raise. The purpose of this is to toast the tortilla to get the perfect "tostada" texture. You know the tortilla is done once it gets brown on each side. Then, take it out of the pan and let it set for a minute, it will give the tortilla time to finish cooking.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Now it's time to start building your tostada. Take a spoonful or two of barbecue sauce and spread a thin layer onto the tortilla. Then take two spoonfuls of corn salsa of your choice. Then, take your shrimp, chicken and onion mixture and spread across the tortilla.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Next, take some of your shredded cheddar and sprinkle onto the mix. Finally, add the lettuce and diced avocado. Then, pick up your tostada like a pizza and enjoy.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Mix all the ingredients in a medium sized bowl and stir well. Last but not least, sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Then, follow the directions on the pizza crust to cook your pizza. Usually it takes around 15 minutes to cook. After it's cooled, sprinkle the green onions, bean sprouts and drizzle a little hoisin sauce on top for taste and presentation. <span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Then, take a taste whether you're from America, Taiwan, Timbuktu, and you'll see what I'm talking about.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Well it's Cinco de Mayo so what better day is there to make
a good Mexican recipe for having a party or kicking back with a margarita and a movie.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">I love when I come across a sweet corn salsa recipe in the store or at a
Mexican restaurant. But why do I have to go out to enjoy something so
delicious? That's how I came with a corn salsa recipe that is easy and fresh.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> Southwestern Corn Salsa Ingredients
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> - 3/4 c. of corn
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> - 1/4 c. minced onions
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> - 1/2 tbs. of garlic
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> - 1/2 tbs. cayenne
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> - 1/2 tbs. cumin
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> - 2 tbs. vinegar
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> - 1 1/2 tbs. red peppers minced
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> - 1 1/2 tbs. green peppers minced
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> - 1 tbs. lime
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> - 1 can 28 oz. plum tomatoes
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> Makes about 6 servings

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> Start out by taking your 28 oz. can of plum tomatoes and chop them. Then put them in a strainer to sit for about 20 minutes in a sink. It will help keep your salsa from becoming too watery. While those are straining, take the 3/4 c. of corn, 1/4 c. minced onions, 1 1/2 tbs. of red and green peppers and mix them in a bowl.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Then take all your seasonings and mix them with the veggies. After that's complete, put the 2 tbs of vinegar, 1/2 tbs. of garlic, and 1 tbs. of lime, and mix well.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> After the tomatoes are done straining, shake the container to get any access fluid out the bottom. Then, mix in the tomatoes with your other ingredients.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">You can add more lime or more veggies depending on your taste buds. Once everything is mixed put some seran wrap over the bowl. Chill in the fridge for about an hour and then enjoy a great mild Mexican salsa.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> When it comes to reheating leftovers, you often get the "It doesn't taste the same," or "I just throw out my leftovers." Well I pulled out my detective kit to figure out why rice and noodles don't taste the same when they're reheated. I found a simple solution so your dish tastes the same as when you first took it off the stove.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> Now, the problem I realized is that noodles and rice become extremely dry once they're reheated. In other words, all the moisture escapes, leaving a horrible uncooked taste.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> Reheating Rice & Pasta

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 1 tbs. of water
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">- 1 paper towel or napkin
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Next time you have leftover rice or pasta, put it in a separate bowl that can go in the microwave. Take 1 tbs. of water and drizzle it over the top. Then, take a spoon and mix the rice or noodles with the water. I usually will eyeball how much water I use because you feel if there's enough moisture on it. I would say 1tbs. of water for every cup or so of noodles of pasta.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">After that's all done put a paper towel on top to cover the bowl. The idea here is the paper towel will help keep the steam in, which keeps the moisture in. Reheat as desired and stir. Once it's warm enough, take the bowl out of the microwave and take a taste. It'll feel like your dish was made the same day and you'll say, " Why didn't I think of that?"Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02927732632113945577noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3550204903776918362.post-24875674580997348732013-04-18T05:36:00.001-07:002013-04-22T05:31:10.570-07:00Delicous Dishes: Manny's Cocina "Seafood Cortez Pizza"<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">After growing up in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, I decided that I know when I come across a solid piece of pizza. <span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">My healthy food kick continues with a wrap that has all the fixings and flavor you'll need for a nice lunch or light dinner. The best part is you can throw this together with things leftover in your fridge on a weeknight after a long day of work.

<u style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Balsamic Chicken Veggie Wrap Ingredients
<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 2 chicken breasts

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 4 tbs. olive oil

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 medium sized red pepper (sliced)

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 small sized onion (sliced)

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 2 tbs. basil

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1/2 c. sliced mushrooms

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 2 1/2 tbs. balsamic vinegar

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 pkg. whole-grain tortilla wraps

<div class="" style="clear: both; font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: left;">
- Dash of pepper
Servings: Makes 4 wraps

Start by heating 2 tbs. of oil in a small skillet. While its heating, chop the chicken up into small strips. Then, cook the chicken until done. Set the pan aside to let the chicken cool and grab another small skillet.

Heat 2 tbs. of oil on medium in your new skillet. Then, put in your slices of red pepper and cook them for a few minutes. Once they're start getting soft, add the 1/2 c. of sliced mushrooms, slices of onion and 2 tbs. of basil and pepper.

After a few minutes, add 2 1/2 tbs. of balsamic vinegar and cook until it bubbles for a minute. This will allow the vegetables to soak up the balsamic vinegar and finish cooking.

Once the vinegar bubbles, take the vegetables off the hot stove and allow to cool. Then take a tortilla wrap and put the vegetables inside and lay your pieces of chicken down. Wrap it up tight and enjoy all the flavors. The best part of this wrap is you can eat it either hot or cold.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Lately, I've been a healthy food fix and I do love me some fish tacos. I normally fry them to get a nice flavor and added crunch, but that means added fat and calories. Yet, these have low fat and a lot of flavor. The best part is you can choose any fish you like. I chose salmon, but this would work well with tilapia, shrimp, or even pollock.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
The dish is simple and combines my special dill sauce, baked salmon and my mandarin avocado salsa. This works great for lunch or dinner because it's very light.
<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Fish Tacos w/ Lemon Dill Sauce Ingredients

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 4 filets of salmon

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 2 tbs of lemon

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1/2 c. of mayonnaise

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1/4 c. of crushed dill

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 tbs. of dijon mustard

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- Salt and pepper to taste

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- Tortillas

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- Lettuce

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Servings: Makes 5 tacos depending on fish size

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Start by preheating your oven at 375 degrees, and then putting your salmon in the oven on a cookie sheet, covered with tin foil. Let it cook for about 25 minutes, or until its flaky.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
While your fish is cooking, start making your lemon dill sauce. Mix in a bowl 2 tbs. of lemon, 1/2c. of mayonnaise, 1/4 c. of crushed dill, 1 tbs. of dijon mustard, salt and pepper. Stir and add additional ingredients based on your preference. Place in fridge to keep it fresh until the salmon is ready.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Mandarin Avocado Salsa Ingredients

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 11 oz. can of mandarin oranges (chopped)

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1/2 a small onion (chopped)

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 avocado

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 2 tbs. of lime

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Servings: Makes about 5 tacos or more

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
To make your salsa, smash one avocado in a bowl. Then, add your chopped mandarin oranges, 1/2 small chopped onion, 2 tbs. of lime and mix together well.

By this time your fish will be fully cooked and you can take them out of the oven. Then, you can start forming your fish taco.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Take one tortilla and warm it in the microwave for about 25 seconds. Then, take the Lemon Dill Sauce out of the fridge and spread it on the tortilla. Next, cut your filet in half and crumble salmon on top.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Finally take a spoonful or two of your salsa. Last but not least break
apart a few lettuce leaves and sprinkle on top. This will give your fish
tacos the perfect crunch on a summer day or any other day.
<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Then, just fold your fish taco how you want it. I like folding mine like burrito, because it keeps all the goodies inside and then I can cut it in half and look at how healthy and delicious the tacos look. Plus, if you cut it in half, it gives better presentation to the dish. Enjoy!

So I came up with a recipe that mixes the taste of cheese melted perfectly with guacamole, and grilled onions.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Cheese Stuffed Burger Ingredients

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 lb ground chuck

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- Buns

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 2 tbs. Worcestershire sauce

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 2 tbs. garlic powder

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 2 slice or 1/4 c. of shredded cheese

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 container of store bought guacamole

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 tomato (sliced)
- 1/3 c. of water

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 tbs. of pepper

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1/2 tbs of salt

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Servings: Makes 4 burgers

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Start by putting your ground chuck in a bowl and add a 2 tbs. of Worcestershire sauce, 2 tbs. of garlic powder, 1/3 c. of water,
1 tbs. of pepper, and 1/2 tbs. of salt. Once its mixed, take a handful
of meat, sized the way you want and shape it into a burger. Then,
use your thumb and press down into the center of the meat to create an
indent.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
In the indent, place your slices of cheese. Place a little bit of meat over the top to cover the cheese, and press down to keep the cheese inside. Next, grill until cooked.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Grilled Onions Ingredients

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 onion (sliced)

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 tbs. basil

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 tbs. oregano

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1/4 c. olive oil

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- Dash of sugar
- Dash of pepper & salt

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
For the onions, after they're sliced, heat up a small skillet on medium heat with olive oil and start cooking. Then, add all of your ingredients and cook them until soft. Once they're finished, put those on a plate.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Next, take your bun and toast it in the skillet. It will season the bun to make these burgers to die for. Last but not least, put your burger together. Spoon out some guacamole onto the bun, add a tomato slice, and your grilled onions and you get a great cheese stuffed guacamole burger.

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: center;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
French fries are a beloved snack when it comes to fast food. Yet, how do you enjoy it without having to go out to eat?

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Now I have a solution for an easy recipe that works great if you have leftover potatoes to use. These french fries will remind you of an American tradition that's crunchy and savory.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Crunchy Homemade French Fries Ingredients

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 4 medium sized potatoes (gold or Yukon)

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 c. of water

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 c. of flour

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 tsp. garlic powder

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 3 tbs. of oregano

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 3 tbs. of basil

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 tbs. of salt

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 2 tsp. of chili powder

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 2 1/2 c. of oil (to fry)

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- Dash of cayenne pepper
- 1 tbs. of kosher salt

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Start by peeling all of your potatoes, and then slice then about a quarter inch thick. Then, take your knife and slice those pieces longways to get the sized french fry you'd like. Then, place them in cold water to keep them fresh.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
In the meantime, use a skillet to do the deep frying if you don't have a deep fryer. Put 2 1/2 c. of oil in a medium skillet and heat up the oil to about 350 degrees. I use my meat thermometer to see how hot the oil is.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: center;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
As your oil heats up, mix together in a bowl, 1 c. of flour, 3 tbs. of oregano, 3 tbs. of basil, 1 tbs. of salt, 2 tsp. of chili powder, a dash of cayenne pepper and then slowly add your 1 c. of water. Mix it well with a whisk, and taste. Add any extra ingredients depending on your taste buds.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Then, take each individual fry and place it into the batter, making sure to cover it with your mix. By this time, your oil will be ready for frying.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Take each fry and place it into the batter. Use tongs to keep each fry separate from each other, so they don't clump together. Fry until they are golden brown. This should take about 10 minutes.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
After they're done, put the fries onto a paper towel, and then place a paper towel on top of them to drain the extra oil. Let them cool for a few minutes, and sprinkle your 1 tbs. of Kosher salt over the top of them. Then, pick your favorite dipping sauce, mine is honey mustard and Bon Appetite!

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: center;">
Healthy Breakfast Surprise Ingredients

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: left;">
- 1 English muffin

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: left;">
- 1 tbs. of butter
- 2 eggs

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: left;">
- 1 tbs of milk
- 1 slice of bacon
- 1 slice of cheddar

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: left;">
- 1 slice of tomato

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> - 2 tbs. of store bought guacamole

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> - Salt & pepper to taste

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> Makes 1 Sandwich

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Start by cracking your eggs in a bowl, and add your 2 tbs of milk. Then whisk your eggs using a fork. I use a fork because its faster and easier than a whisk when it comes to eggs. Then, melt 1 tbs. of butter in a small skillet, making sure to move it around the entire pan.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Then, pour your mixture into a small, medium heated skillet. Watch the eggs until the mixture solidifies and use a wooden spoon to scrape the eggs from the bottom of the pan, and separate the pieces.

Once its toasted, take one half and spread your 2 tbs. of store bought guacamole and put your slice of cheddar on top. On the other half, spoon the eggs and sprinkle your bits of bacon. Then, put your sandwich in the microwave for 25 seconds on 80%, or until the cheese is melted. Last but not least, put your tomato slice on one half and put your sandwich together. You'll definitely want to make seconds on this recipe.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
After spending a lot of time experimenting in my kitchen during my stay-cation, I came up with a great dessert, inspired by my favorite alcoholic drink, the Strawberry Daiquiri.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
This recipe will definitely grab your sweet tooth and take it on a roller coaster of great flavor. These cupcakes are filled with my homemade strawberry compote and even alcohol.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

Strawberry Daiquiri Cupcakes Ingredients

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 pkg of Duncan Hines Red Velvet Cake
- 1 container Pillsbury Vanilla Frosting

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 2 tsp. rum

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1/3 c. of Daily's Strawberry Daiquiri mix

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Makes about 20 cupcakes

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
First, preheat your oven as directed on the cake mix box. I used Duncan Hines red velvet cake mix, but you can use any brand. Then, follow the directions on the back of the box. But, only use 1/4 c. of water instead because you'll be adding other wet ingredients to the batter.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
After you're done mixing the ingredients, add the 2 tsp. of rum and the 1/3 c. of Daily's Strawberry Daiquiri mix. If you don't want alcohol in these, you can simply use rum extract. Then, line your muffin pan with cupcake liners and spoon the batter into them about 1/3 full. Then, cook the cupcakes as directed on the box. Now, it's time to make the strawberry filling.

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: center;">
Strawberry Compote Ingredients

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 c. of Frozen strawberries (thawed)(halved)

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1/4 c. of Daily's Daiquiri mix

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 2 tbs. sugar

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 tbs. cornstarch

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
For this part of the recipe take a medium sized saucepan and start to whisk 1/4 c. of Daily's Strawberry Daiquiri mix and a 1 tbs. of cornstarch over low heat. You want to get rid of any clumps that the cornstarch may create.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Once that's done, then you can whisk in the 1 c. of thawed strawberries that are cut in half and the 2 tbs. of sugar. Then, bring this to a boil until it thickens, which will take about 5 minutes.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: center;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
At this point, your cupcakes will be done and you want to let them cool for 5 minutes. Then its time to put the compote in the cupcakes. My secret was I turned one of my cake frosting tips upside down and pressed it to the top of each cupcake. Then rotate 360 degrees, and pull up, most of the cake will come out. Be sure not to insert all the way to the bottom to avoid leaking. Also, you may have to pick out some leftover cake pieces inside to get a big enough hole.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Next, spoon your filling into each cupcake to the top. Finally it's time to frost. All you have to do is take about 2 tbs. of leftover compote and mix it in a bowl with your container of Pillsbury Vanilla frosting. Then, frost each cupcake how you like. Top with a decorated strawberry for presentation. Take a bite and you'll feel like you're on the beach.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Have you ever gone to a party hoping there would be spinach and artichoke dip? I always do because its one of my favorite appetizers. So I made my favorite dip into a simple tart.
<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Spinach & Artichoke Ingredients

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 cup of spinach (drained & chopped)

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 14 oz. can of artichoke hearts

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 tsp. garlic powder

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1/2 cup of mayonnaise

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 cup of mozzarella

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 3/4 cup of Parmesan Cheese

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
- 1 box of Pillsbury refrigerated pie crusts

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Servings: Makes about 24 tarts

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: center;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
First, start out the recipe by preheating your oven to 375 degrees, and then spray your 24-mini muffin cup pan with cooking spray.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Then, measure and mix all of your ingredients in a bowl, except the pie crust. Once that's finished, remove only 1 pouch of dough from your Pillsbury box.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
Take a 2 1/2 inch cookie cutter and cut 24 rounds out of the crust. You will have to re roll the dough out with a rolling pin after quite a few. If you don't have a cookie cutter, just find a lid in your home that measures the same, like I recommended in an earlier post.

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
After that, take each round and press it into the muffin cups, pinching a few sides on the top so it looks like the picture on the left. Then, take a spoonful of your mixture and fill up your cups to the top. Last but not least put them in the oven for about 20 minutes. When the top of the filling and the crust is a little brown, the tarts are done. Let them cool for about 5 minutes and then your ready to serve.
